Extensive Refactoring of dpa-SportsLive Football

The dpa-SportsLive Football widgets underwent extensive refactoring for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Among other things, the requirements of the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG) were implemented. Our latest widget generation is accessible, optimized for mobile use, and supports dark mode. A flat widget version can also be used as a teaser to save space on websites.


Our new widgets provide:  

  • Live: up-to-date, fast, reliable data;
  • Ready-to-publish: Moderne Grafiken ready to go;
  • Easy integration: via Embed-Code;
  • Easy customization: can be adapted to the customer’s corporate design via CSS.


Important: The CSS files of the old widgets can no longer be used. We will be happy to support you with the adjustments.


Integration, Configuration, Customization, Tracking

dpa-SportsLive has a modular structure: Livecenter, Live Matches, Fixture List, Statistics, Table(s), etc. There is a dedicated widget for each type of content. The widgets can be quickly embedded as graphical elements in web articles or freely combined for a competition landing page. They are also suitable as teaser elements on the homepage to link to dedicated sports pages.

All widgets can be customized in terms of shape, color, and typography. They are optimized for both desktop websites and mobile devices and can also be integrated into apps

What do the different widgets show?

The dpa-SportsLive package offers the following widget types. You can view them live and interactively in the dpa Shop. 


Livecenter


  • A matchday overview shows all scheduled fixtures in chronological order.
  • During matchdays, live updates display all results from ongoing matches.
  • At the end of the matchday, a results overview shows all final scores.
  • A matchday switcher below the header allows users to move back and forth between individual matchdays.


Table View


  • The table view for the respective competition includes the number of matches played, wins, losses, goals for and against, goal difference, and points.
  • It is possible to switch between the home table and away table.


Multimedia Ticker



  • We offer a multimedia ticker.
  • In addition to commentary, we provide images and social media content for the respective matches. 


Compact Ticker View


  • Readers can view a compact overview of the key events of the match alongside the commentary. 
  • The compact view includes goals, penalty goals, missed penalties, substitutions, yellow cards, and red cards. 


Timeline


  • We also offer the option to embed the timeline of key match events as a standalone element.
  • As in the Livecenter, key events can be examined in more detail via tooltip.


Lineups

 

  • Under “Lineups,” we display the lineups of both teams as well as the coaches.
  • In addition to player names, the cards, goals, and substitutions for each player are shown.
  • Via tooltip, we also provide the match minute of the respective player event linked to each player.


Bench

 

  • In addition to the starting lineups, substitute players are shown in the “Bench” menu.


Top Scorers List


  • In the top scorers list, we provide the leading scorers of the respective competition.  
  • In addition to total goals, we also provide the metric min./goal as well as other scoring statistics.
